#CatChatBookClub which she does by relating what she did in her garden & the spaces nearby, but is told in such a way that it can be a blueprint for change in our own gardens. In its observations of nature it reminded me a little of Melissa Harrison. I’m learning about bees 2/3

#catchatbookclub I am a few months in (her chapters are months) to One Garden Against the World by Kate Bradbury & am loving it. I have the book & audio book because I prefer her voice reading it. It is about making a difference by supporting nature in one garden 1/3

A car park near, so not really suitable for heavy grocery shopping. I rather think I will be reverting to Waitrose instead, which is where I shopped before Covid. Or I’ll order online & give up in-person shopping altogether. Closing the cafes is a terrible decision.

You are warmly welcome to sit back and listen to my (rough and ready) podcast where readings will transport you back to centuries past. It’s kind, cosy, gentle and full of fascinating readings, often from long- forgotten texts. Nothing is asked of you other than your company,

#CatChatBookClub This is the book I was telling you about at the end of last year - looking forward to listening to this later this morning.
Such a joyful ramble (slower than I’d have managed before) with Clare Balding & the spirit of the marvelous Julia White, who farmed Manor Farm 1941-1955, & the incredible women she apprenticed herself to. Listen here! #BBCR4 #Ramblings #GhostsoftheFarm

#CatChatBookClub Useful because the name/title changes as people inherit and/or are rewarded. Also, the title sometimes moves sideways to brothers/ sons/ grandsons and it becomes a little hard to keep track. Then there are marriages to other leading families. Worth reading. 4/4

#Catchatbookclub the other book I am still reading is The Spencer Family by Charles Spencer. I had not realised until I read this how long the family held positions of influence; unsurprisingly perhaps there were quite a few strong women. A family tree would have been helpful.3/n
