At long last, A WHEEL OF RAVENS is up for pre-order: the first-ever collection of original poems written in the traditional Old English form. Fans of Norse mythology (but with a Beowulfian twist) will certainly enjoy this one. @DanSauerDesign

Here's some vintage Halloween for you: my grandparents dressed up in each other's clothes. This is in the late 1940s. My mother looks concerned.

This is a good read, and it even gives a shout-out to @adambolivar 's book of alliterative verse, WHEEL OF RAVENS.

Neep procured to carve into a jack-o'-lantern! I can already discern an eldritch visage. I think this year's one will be particularly gruesome...

"Grim King of Ghosts" comes from the first line of the ballad "The Lunatic Lover":

"Grim King of Ghosts" was a popular tune to accompany macabre ballads--very appropriate for Halloween!

For you geeks who love talking about #alliterative poetry, my next three hilarious entries for @postTolkien talk about the issues that SF poets face specifically when reviving the alliterative meter. @PaulDeane3 @adambolivar @sfpoetry

Wise's expansive view of what poetry can be, and how it can be judged, deserves a wide audience.

I have completed composing a new verse-play for marionettes: JACK AND THE GREEN ETTIN, a retelling of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Now I need to make a Green Ettin marionette with a detachable head...

I am happy to learn that my alliterative poem “Géac of the Lantern" will appear in ILLUMINATIONS OF THE FANTASTIC magazine! The editor said that the poem was a "bright spot in my dark week."

I finally saw the Green Knight movie that came out a few years ago. I liked it at first, but it annoyed me that the ending was changed. Perhaps I should write a Sir Gawain and the Green Knight marionette play! It could be written in a combination of rhyming & alliterative verse.
