Unpopular opinion. Someone with over 100 pounds to lose is better off going to a therapist than a trainer. There are deeper issues with stress management, emotional regulation and self image. Once the deep work is done, trainers can help guide them the across the finish line.

The best pre workout is a good nights sleep and a strong cup of coffee.

Mani/pedis are one of the least utilized recovery protocols in the game. They stimulate blood flow and ease tension in your forearms, calves and hands. And leave you feeling all kinds of nice afterwards. A little bit of grooming can go a long way.

These days, my drug of choice is having deep conversations with inspiring people. One hit and I'm buzzed for days.

Lifting weights is one of the most powerful ways to improve mental health. Take the weight from your mind, put it onto the bar, and then go to war with it. Iron therapy is a very real thing.

Life Hack:. Doing physically hard things. Lifting weights, running long distances, taking cold showers, skipping a meal or two. Get comfortable with discomfort, and the rest of your life will get easier.

The gym -. The place I take negative emotions and put them towards a positive outcome. Show up angry, overwhelmed or frustrated. Leave with a clear mind, a positive attitude and a step closer to a stronger, healthier body. Pure Alchemy IMO. Lead into gold.

Amid tragedy, the best parts of the human spirit will always shine forth. 9/11 was a day filled with fear, heartbreak, and dread. 9/12 was a day in which strangers took care of each other and all the petty bullshit keeping us divided ceased to matter.

“It depends” is the most honest answer in fitness. Too bad it sucks for marketing.

In the last 10 days, two different people have told me I looked like a German. I am unsure how to take this.

A recipe for staying young until you die. 1: Walk a lot. 10K steps should be a minimum goal. 2: Resistance Training. This can be done with kettlebells, bodyweight, barbells etc. don’t overthink it, just do it. 3: Sprint every 7 - 10 days. Use it or you will surely lose it.
