Ongoing fusion and fission technology R&D is certainly worthwhile, for all the usual reasons why basic science and technology research is valuable. But there is currently no plausible economic use case for nuclear power that is even remotely competitive with SWB almost anywhere

No, I don’t believe brain–computer interfaces will redefine what it means to be human. I believe brain–computer interfaces will redefine the limits of human capability, but that doesn’t change who we are; it doesn’t change our souls. At the end of the day, this is a technology.
