Finally, Katherine Walukevich-Dienst, PhD, & Christine Lee, PhD (@UWPsychiatry) will be testing an intervention that helps daily cannabis users take breaks from their cannabis use to reset tolerance (T-breaks). Results will help improve the guide & reduce harms in young adults.

P. Priscilla Lui PhD (@UWPsychology) is examining why Asian American youth are drinking more: acculturative stress, the pressure of balancing Asian & American cultural expectations. Findings will help shape culturally tailored strategies to better support this understudied group.

Rebecca Hoban, MD, MPH & Sara Berkelhamer, MD (@UWPediatrics) are using data from an ongoing study of cannabis use in pregnancy to see how cannabis impacts lactation goals/duration. Their findings will help guide future interventions to support lactation for ppl who use cannabis.

Abigail Elerding (@UWPharmacology) & Omar Koita, PhD (@UWPsychiatry) are investigating 3 different GABA neurons in the brain’s ventral tegmental area to see how they influences opioid use disorder. Better understanding this function could help lead to more targeted treatments.
