he shall never know i love him: and that, not because he's handsome, but because he's more myself than i am. whatever our souls are made out of, his and mine are the same.

anyway this was took entirely out of context by the haters (as usual). jacob was JOKING when he said that and he said that specifically to the interviewer since she's from yorkshire and she was joking too saying "I'm cathy". I bet haters didn't even hear the whole interview
Jacob Elordi says you don't need to search for your Heathcliff. Your Heathcliff will find you ❤️🔥 We spoke to the stars of Emerald Fennell’s #WutheringHeights to talk windswept romance and wild passion! Watch below! 🎬⬇️

its okay to not like fennell's "wuthering heights." its okay to not go see "wuthering heights." yes, you can criticize her for not casting a poc lead. calling this the "worst adaptation of all time" or "a product of the modern literacy crisis" is deeply misogynistic and defeats

"it's not about love" then tell me, what's one of the things that allows the 2nd gen to break the cycle of abuse, if not love? You know what the problem is? That y'all treat love & romance as something with less depth and importance just BC it usually caters to a female audience.
wuthering heights is a novel about English class divisions, the psychology of rural Yorkshire, an intense gothic drama about cross-generational trauma, the social fallout of imperialism. But thanks to pop culture it's somehow a "love story" which it actually barely is at all

just because it doesn't adjust to your vanilla conceptions of romance, doesn't mean it's still not a romance. gothic literature exists, gothic romance exists. books are not real life, and we shouldn't judge them as such.
