Yesterday, in Muko & Shingiro, @actionaidrwanda launched a 3-day training for caregivers on child-centered learning methodologies, under the Addressing 3Rs of Unpaid Care Work for Women Empowerment Project funded by the @unwomenrwanda. @MusanzeDistrict

Field visits will follow to witness change at community level. This is part of the EU’s technical assistance to monitor progress, provide advice & foster collaboration for sustainability.

The meeting also brought together partners @sowpeace1 , @AdecorRwanda & @kilimoEAC Trust, working jointly to empower women farmers, strengthen cooperatives & build resilient livelihoods.

In her remarks, the Vice Mayor for Finance & Economic Development commended the project’s achievements presented by @actionaidrwanda , @agrifop_org & @rikolto . She noted the positive impact on beneficiaries & recommended extending the project for lasting change.

Altogether, these activities reflect AAR’s continued commitment to advancing women’s empowerment, promoting social justice, and securing economic justice for vulnerable communities in Rwanda.

Furthermore, AAR supported women farmers’ cooperative members with water tanks to ease access to clean water for household and farming use, thereby reducing the burden of unpaid care work. @NyanzaDistrict

AAR also convened a 2-day dialogue between women farmers’ cooperatives & financial institutions under the Kungahara Project. This was a valuable platform for smallholder women farmers to discuss access to finance & sustainable agricultural practices. @EUinRW, @cipsnews

The camps brought together adolescent girls to strengthen confidence, leadership, and self-esteem while addressing key issues like gender equality, education, and SRHR. In Ruheru, the camp continues and will close on Saturday, 27th August 2027.

These contributions play a key role in reducing women’s unpaid care work by minimizing the time spent fetching water and collecting firewood for cooking, among other things, thereby allowing them to dedicate more time to productive and income-generating activities.

Yesterday, AAR in partnership with UN Women, supported women farmers in Muko and Shingiro with energy-saving stoves and water tanks. 50 stoves and 5 water tanks were availed to women of Shingiro while in 70 stoves and 10 granted to women in Muko. @ActionAid, @MusanzeDistrict
