I hear GPT-5 demo has typo errors. That reminded of a wierd case that I faced recently - in the code, all the comments written by Claude Code that ended with the character 't' (ex. fast, last, first) had that t missing. Has anyone seen something similar?.

My Claude agent trying to run a test suite that was stuck waiting on a DB call suddenly reminded me of the Halting Problem. I still carry Theory of Computation scars!.

Indirectly wrote about Satya Nadella and Microsoft a few years ago. What I didn't understand then was how effective Microsoft starategy and bets were!.

20 years ago when I was graduating, I did not consider IBM, Intel and Microsoft as a job option. Microsoft in particular didn't inspire me. But this is new MS is more like MS of 80s and 90s - fast moving and aspirational. Love what they are doing!.

I'm yet to try Claude Code?. What are the trade-offs involved, and is it worth investing if I primarily code on hobby projects and in Elixir Phoenix?.

I said it's 10:15, let's sleep. My 3 yo looked at the analog clock and said: but there's no 15 in the clock!.

I got to know about cluely when I was interviewing a candidate recently and he opened this website by mistake. He said oops and closed the window. I wouldn't have cared if I had not heard "oops". I'm still not sure if it makes sense 😕.

After 7.5 million years, Deep Thought answered: "42". And I nodded. The answer was elegant, absurd and complete. I knew the question was mine to find.

BTW, a lot of folks have tried cheating as well. I now can look at code for the usual problems I ask and tell if it was generated using AI or was actually written by the person. Most folks don't even know how to properly cheat!.

Examples:.– Python programmers struggle to implement a basic data structure like a Stack using a list, if they're not allowed to use the list's built-in append and pop methods. – Java programmers find it tricky to reverse a string, since strings in Java are immutable.

I have been interviewing tech candidates, most of them virtually, and I have a lot of learnings to share. Hopefully, I'll write them down soon on my blog. However, it's astonishing that most are constrained because of the programming language of their choice.

Just realised Natasha from @Team_Hike was an AI agent before even the term Agent was created. It could get weather, movie details, look at wikipedia and even give you a phone call if you asked nicely.

Big claim! Are these unique users?. Most likely not!.
Sam Altman says ChatGPT users had doubled in the past few weeks and that "10% of the world uses our systems", which would peg the number closer to 800M users (@contentnow / Forbes).

It's so interesting that Punjab celebrates Baishakhi, Assam celebrates Bihu and Tamilnadu celebrates new year today. Especially when Indian calendar is lunar based. Happy Baishakhi, Bihu and new year to everyone.

I'm trying to find a hindi novel I read over 20 years ago. It's about a college teacher who's new to a small town, is hesitant and eventually falls in love with a student or perhaps his landlord's daughter. And no, it's not "gunahon ka devta".

I have been trying to say the same thing in a lot of words - using LLMs to write code itself is a skill. The way one can't take an email written by ChatGPT and send it to stakeholders, similarly writing code using LLMs require care, skill and attention.
