@instagram This is about to get a lot worse tomorrow when all the legacy blue checkmarks disappear and Twitter is left with only paid blue checks. The scammers will undoubtedly pay for some verified checks to gain more legitimacy.

Well that's a sentence I never thought could exist. "A request for comment from Twitter’s press office was met with an automated reply containing a poo emoji, a new policy announced by Musk this month."

I wrote up some thoughts about how Bluesky can/should support OAuth, both for applications to access users' accounts, as well as allowing users to log in to their https://t.co/o5OvcOKLhj account using their own website! https://t.co/II6R5M5Yxy

I've given many talks about how mobile apps can't be deployed with a secret, and using Twitter's 2013 "hacks" as an example. I'm just going to leave this completely unrelated string of random characters here for no particular reason GgDYlkSvaPxGxC4X8liwpUoqKwwr3lCADbz8A7ADU

PSA: If you use Twitter to sign in to stuff, you should double check you have another way to get in to those accounts asap. With Twitter charging ??? for API access next week, you have no way of knowing whether the apps you use are going to pay that.

It's here! My new video course "Advanced OAuth Security" is now available on Udemy! In this course we break down the jargon in the high-security OAuth specs like PAR, JAR, JARM, DPoP, Mutual TLS, HTTP Signatures and more! https://t.co/hzBxOiWmwO

wow I didn't expect the policy to get written to actually prohibit linking to other platforms like Mastodon... good thing my website is not running Mastodon and is my own first-party platform, not third-party. https://t.co/Qadko7oHyv

Let's see if I get banned for linking to my own website, which you can also follow from Mastodon. https://t.co/sLNuahNT9Y

These settings remove the blatant noise from my mentions, but it turns out there's just a lot of actual very confused people debating whether people should be treated with respect.

40% off my Stress Test Video Clips! They're a great way to test the quality of your streaming encoders! These are specifically designed to be challenging to encoders and software codecs to see how they behave. https://t.co/4WiIuAAk09

and no I'm not actually using Mastodon, and yes everyone I've followed I've grouped into different lists, I don't have a "main timeline" to read. That's helped a lot, I can choose to dip into different communities when I want to.

good news: my Mastodon/fediverse timeline has already ramped up to the level of activity of my Twitter timeline bad news: catching up on my Mastodon/fediverse timeline is now as noticeably bad for my mental health as Twitter was

Whenever I open twitter now, the home timeline has like 2 new tweets. I'm not sure if this is because the twitter infrastructure is failing, or because actually there was one person individually responsible for creating your home timeline and they were fired last week
