Here collaboration has to be a key belief that needs to be embedded for having a successful and impactful team. So did you find the path to match the expectations to the reality in building your dream team?

There is also an undeniable expectation of high performance from every team. However, if they don't have an open, supportive and welcoming environment where employees don't feel comfortable sharing their concerns & feedback, the expectation will be meandering away from reality.

To my mind and in my own practice, having clear communication about the processes and the goal is important for all the stakeholders to be on the same page. Defining SOPs and having timely follow-ups help in building a better delivering team.

When Sachin Tendulkar had taken over the captaincy from Mohd. Azharuddin, there were immense hopes and expectations from the Indian cricket team. While there was no dearth of talent there, somehow it could not translate into a successful stint with performance debacles.

While a sorted, aligned and connected team forms the basis of a successful organization that delivers desired outcomes, it's pertinent to maintain the momentum between the promises and offerings.

While I patiently sat through the conversation, I couldn't help but wonder, what went wrong. As the conversation went forward, it came to light that the team was lost in the transition between the perception and reality of the working environment.
