https://t.co/rO27WYXCV8 is a new site I made when someone asked me if I knew how they could get into tech. Maybe you want to add a PR? Or share the site!

Beyond a crapton of really obvious accessibility issues, my frustration with JS-based table component solutions is that there is too much kitchen-sink. IDK what the solution is but it's not this.

Here's a super fun one: changing the display property. Did you know that when you do this, it's not a table for users with AT anymore?

Tables that allow you to change the visual order of the columns (so it no longer matches the DOM order)

Even worse is no indicator at all even after the column is somehow magically sorted. Do you hate your users?

So many sortable columns that have NO INDICATION that they are sortable. Do you want your users to guess? "oh a fun game, let's try clicking on this column header and see if something happens" is not something anyone has ever said. So mean.

So I've been hunting through table component implementations for JS-based apps and y'all, I am not impressed.

I STILL feel bad when I donated/voted for Hillary and went to bed that night assuming that she’d win and didn’t do any outreach or anything. Assuming a landslide is not a thing I will **ever** do again.

I just found out that James Acaster was in Chicago on Friday night and I’m completely gutted. 😭

Do you think that if George had saved Nicholas, we would not have to put up with Putin? I suppose it does no use in wondering what might have been but one can’t help but imagine about things like this, sometimes.

The thing about the death of Twitter is that y’all are about to get some Mel who has been working on web stuff for 25 years and is fed. The. Fuck. Up.

“It’s about Free speech” rates about as high as “it’s about performance” or “it’s a design system “ or things men try to regularly explain to me, assuming I don’t understand.

I think the thing that Elon Musk doesn’t get is that Twitter wasn’t just the place for blowhard politicians to spout nonsense. It’s the place where people who made the things on the internet could easily interact. Twitter was special & a stupid tech bro has ruined it forever.

In the future TVs will just have "cast to TV" like Chromecast does because OH MY GOD ITS OBVIOUS. Especially hotel TVs, stop making your hotel TV so useless.

I often think about the other women in Troop 235 and wonder how they are doing now. #USN #Troop235 #greatLakes
