Our luck over the last 6 months. Damaged bathroom, hospital admission, premature baby, 1 month NICU, lost job, and now our car has been stolen. Just need a break. Exhausted.

I do not understand America where new mothers aren't guaranteed mat leave. Read on how puppies aren't allowed to be serperated from their mother's for 8 weeks. But a human parent in America? You gave birth yesterday? Get into the office early to make up time.

Not having to think about or go to work is great. High recommend. Ok, I have to keep a human baby alive, but not working is so freeing.

Nextdoor neighbour popped round to say she'll bring over dinner tomorrow if we wanted. Husband and I both assumed the other had told her that we had a premature newborn in hospital. Nope. She had no idea and just enjoys cooking for people.

Tbf I had to get an injection which took a couple hours. But it's still been 7+ hours since. I wouldn't mind if they were just blunt telling me that the doctors are really busy and it'll be a while. Instead I had all day of "not long to go. Doctors are coming down" etc.

11+ hours from "we're getting your discharge papers sorted" to actually being discharged from hospital 😑🤦‍♀️.

The worst thing about gestational diabetes is my poor fingers getting sore with getting blood from them 4+ times a day. 5 days done, only 67 to go 🤦‍♀️.

Trying to work out if I can feel my baby moving. Read online that movement feels like "fart bubbles" or butterflies. As a gassy anxious person, it's proving tricky.

My husband and I might have been married for 2.5 years, having a kid together, but we just entered the biggest stage of our relationship: we opened a joint account.
