I'm honestly happy that LJ got a deduction for that uniform. I don't think the penalty is enough, but at least competitions are making a statement about appropriate uniforms. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for programs to stop designing costumes.

Andy Simon's channel gave me the ability to watch cheer when we couldn't afford a subscription. It gave me the opportunity to show cheer to others easily. Having access to it saved my life by bringing me joy when I was in an incredibly dark place. I have no words. None.

Also, just a reminder, if you're at NCA, please don't overwhelm athletes on well-known teams. Athletes are there on a business trip. It's not a meet and greet. Please be respectful of their time and space. Please don't be upset if an athlete denies your request for a picture.

As cheerleaders, we are told to finish the routine short of death. To keep going no matter what. However, if an athlete is on the floor, visibly injured and not getting up, the reaction should not be to pick up the athlete and continue. You should be trying to stop the routine.

IMO, a former athlete/coach of a program publicly implying about/commenting on the actions of a child half their age is not a good look (for yourself or your program). Probably should have sat this one out and let things play out. No need to insert yourself.

@CheerFessions1 Send-offs are not for the people on the internet (unless the gym wants to post it) Send-offs are meant for friends, family and the program. Just because it's not posted on the internet doesn't mean it isn't a send-off.

What kills me is that the header are other athletes. It's a reflection on CA. And it's not a good one. I don't see how a gym in good faith keeps an athlete when this is public. Idk, my gym would never.

@CheerFessions1 I don't see this as unsolicited advice. It's different from a random athlete commenting on someone's form/technique. Former backspot was trying to be helpful to the backspot transitioning into the stunt group. All the new backspot had to do was say "thanks" and move on.

How coaches treat their athletes says a lot about a program. Be up front with your athletes. Don't string then along if you're not planning on incorporating them into the team. Make your intentions clear from the jump. Don't disrespect your athletes and waste their time.

@CheerFessions1 Gyms are always going to have team names that are feminine-leaning. How you identify is your business. But don't expect a gym to change a team name or demand a team name change because an athlete identifes a particular way. How you identify is not indicative of the team name

@tglcaf IDC how good/solid your stunts are. If a flyer has a hard shell cast, the flyer shouldn't be in the air. A brace, maybe: but that depends on clearance from a doctor. There are too many variables: you could fall and aggravate the injury more, or injure a base or another athlete.

@CheerFessions1 No one is saying that they need to look worlds ready, but when multiple teams have major building falls in baskets, that's a valid concern. It's a safety issue for all athletes involved.

Didn't think I would have to say this, but... Using "trigger warning" in your content when there is no actual need for it is poor judgement at best and ignorant at worst. It's cheerleaders doing normal skills. It's really a mockery of the purpose of that function.

@CheerFessions1 Um, okay. First off, there are legitimate reasons why someone might stand in the back of a routine. Second, everyone contributes in some capacity. so yes, if you are on a worlds team, you are a worlds athlete.

@CheerFessions1 And why wouldn't you? It's summer and a camp. You should be trying to help build each other up at this point in the season.

@CheerFessions1 Not really? It's hard for adults to maintain/keep their tumbling in their adult lives. Try again.
