As a fan of the original film, I was skeptical of Bill Condon’s adaptation of the musical, but he does such a great job, I cannot help but recommend the new KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN. 🕷️ Read my full review of below. 🕸️

I'm sorry but JLo the singer will always be better than Jennifer Lopez, the actress. She would have never been who she is today if it wasn't for her music career. Her music career made her a global superstar and not her acting career.

(2/3) Oscar chances however remain in tact since you don’t need to be a hit to secure more than warranted supporting actress and tech nominations for a Broadway musical film adaptation. And this campaign never tried to go for considerably more like Picture & Director and such.

(1/3) KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN flopped at the BO. Fact. It is a great film so the reasons are clearly external: small distributor with limited resources, tiny PR budget, semi-wide release, niche play, tricky streaming-ravaged theatrical marketplace.

This movie was somehow better the second time around. I really need to see Tonatiuh in more roles. He is damn good. Diego has my heart. Jennifer… my god. Just made for the camera.

@Luiz_Fernando_J P.S. Yes, F1 and OBAA both have wide global audiences in theatres. But there is a difference between big BO and big profits. And neither of these films will turn profit in theatres due to huge price tags. Which would be fine if not for the Film Twitter double standards.
