Just to have it all in one tweet:. Somebody literally doxxed us, called ComicCon, and said we were conspiring to hurt Sam. Police were called on the one of us who was there (I’m across the country and was not attending).
🧵RE SDCC . It’s been 24 hours of sitting on it, so I think I can talk about it. The SDCC stuff didn’t happen yesterday bc someone in the fandom pulled an insane act of cruelty and doxxing that led to actual police being falsely called on somebody.

The attempt to handle this began DAY OF. I was supposed to be contacted within hours. Tomorrow it’s two weeks, and multiple points of contact. Nobody even wanted this to become a matter of public interest, we sincerely believed they were going to handle it within 24 hours.

On a personal level this whole thing is so baffling bc I literally work on Broadway and know exactly how these situations are supposed to be handled. Every company I’ve worked for has meetings about stuff like this. SDCC literally couldn’t handle this worse if they tried.

This is extra frustrating considering I made it clear from the start that even with their abhorrent behavior, the goal was not to bring consequences on SDCC. Just that we wanted info so everyone could be safe.

At this point, it is actively and intentionally being ignored. Multiple parties on the SDCC team are aware, are pretending they’re going to contact me, and refusing to do so. IMO this is a completely intentional attempt to ignore it and make it go away.
@Comic_Con @SDConventionCtr I know your ears are burning. There’s no way your socials team hasn’t been made aware of this situation & yet you remain silent. My friend @_littlepossum_ has repeatedly tried to reach out to your staff for follow up but is actively being avoided.

If you truly want to help and pursue responsibility for this situation, bring it to SDCC’s awareness and ask why they’ve been dodging our communications. Bc what the people involved want is answers.

While I agree with many people, takes, and things, it’s not helping. The truth is going to come out one way or another, and in the meantime all we can do is try to be kind to one another and refuse to engage with those who are not. Arguing is truly not helping.

Ok last posts before I turn off for a while again: . Please stop engaging with the stupidity. It will become apparent in time who did the doxxing. Serious suspicions can be sent our way, but otherwise all that’s happening is the situation is being minimized as “Twitter beef”.

Me and The Boy were at the Museum of Natural History and he was arguing there’s no way these are in NY so I’ve been on a mission to prove him wrong. But the universe was conspiring with me, so they swam right up to my dock today.

I see so many cries of “iwtv fandom is so toxic” “iwtv has one of the worst fandom” and frankly more and more with time I think it’s actually a great and very well adjusted fandom with about 20 specific weirdos who if you block you’ll have a great time.

THAT BEING SAID we are (almost) all people who have been targeted previously for our opinions and that’s clearly how we got on the doxxer’s radar & why they hate us. And there are groups on here that act heinously all the time. I’m just saying this isn’t about one disagreement.

This is also true. This is clearly a culmination of everything that came before it.
every incident of doxxing that came before that was swept under the rug made what happened at sdcc possible because it created an environment where violation of privacy was a way to gain clout instead of being called out and exiled from the fandom.

I say this bc I think even in the best faith, the idea that this occurred over some perceived difference of opinion is not true. Especially because in the time leading up to it many of us had little interaction with discourse of any kind.

An addition: . This doxxing did not occur over discourse. The more we learn that is extremely clear. This wasn’t a sides of the fandom thing, and I don’t think presenting it that way portrays it accurately. It seems a lot like jealousy and perceived access played a factor.
Coming out of my hole to say it’s not worth engaging with bad faith arguments about the doxxing. Anyone with enough brain cells to watch the show knows exactly what the severity of the situation is and why. They’re intentionally obfuscating it under fandom drama. Don’t give in.
