Mental health is not just psychological, it’s also philosophical. We become ekophilosophically healthy when our actions align with our beliefs and our beliefs align with our ecos - our physical home (eg our body, community, and the more-than-human).

When they tell me they are connected to everything and we are all one, yet find ways to avoid paying taxes, I think spiritual bypassing is happening.

Escaping to a spirituality that is merely metaphysical is inadequate for our times. It’s an (understandable) escape from the realities of the world.

These unfamiliar Earthly cohabitants are, in reality, our kin, our forebears, and an integral part of our very essence. They actively participate in the cycles that sustain us, providing vital resources such as water and nourishment.

No matter how much our species consumes our attention, life is a far wider system. Life is a complex interplay of matter and energy, spanning across millions of species, both within and beyond our own existence.

To live well in the Anthropocene, I find understanding complexity extremely valuable- so different from my previous way of understanding the world - mechanical, linear, controllable, knowable, purposeless - and not only a knowledge system but another way of being and acting.

To me rewilding philosophy does not only mean to move it from a mere academic discipline into an everyday practice, but also to let other - non-human - voices in.

Every worldview is shaped by it’s natureculture and vice versa. Natureculture plays a constitutive - rather than solely a causal role - in the development of worldviews. Every natureculture has always practiced human-making. Humans aren’t born, they are made.
