After everything, I'm forever thankful to the whole VERBLUE team who gave all their time, effort, and passion to make everything happen. This group made me realize that what I long for is collaboration, because you gave me just that. Thank you... from the bottom of my heart! 💙

Looking back, R3 was so wacky. We put in many movie and K-pop references for inspiration. We even chose the song just because it's a hard song to cover 😂 It was a fun ride and I'm very proud that it turned out just like this!

Wow! We made it! R3! After a story-based entry, we wanted something that represents VERBLUE in its true form. What it means to be the "blue" kind of group is now just to be true to ourselves. So R3 turned out to be more about freedom of expression. https://t.co/rw5ec66EVq

But since R2 plays around semiotics, we were worried if the worldbuilding wasn't clear enough for a smoother path to our next entry. So we created this page as a way to connect people to what we were preparing for R3 and give little context to the story. https://t.co/yFTBnIQh1R

R2 was about reality. We created this story of VERBLUE facing the reality of the world they were placed in during R1. We know it will be more cinematic than R1, but we decided to keep the graphic style in to create a sense of "dissonance" between R1 and what's to come after.

Then R2 comes where we approach things a little bit differently. This time, we took a new direction on how we interpret our group's name. Putting more emphasis on the "ver" side, we wanted to tackle something more "true" to us. https://t.co/ox5FWaVmNd

Then came the R1 planning. We decided to bring hey! hey! as it really resonates with the message we wanted to convey. Since we also ended up getting Alola as our assigned region, we pictured something summer-like & tropical. I guess it was fate all along LMAO

I remember Peijun's suggestion to wait a little longer to post this exactly on "the final countdown" of R1, just so the message became stronger. The team also suggested countdown teasers to go for it, and to this day, I'm amazed by that commitment. https://t.co/pV3DxhbV6k

With the vision aligned, we start curating songs that would best represent the group. Something I love about this group is that they took songs they brought as a part of something they wanted to convey. R0 was one of their "shout" to the world as a group. https://t.co/Y9OiXp2Kkg

So we announce our group based on those exact discussions we had with a teaser, as a form of statement. I think this became the core definition that we carry along throughout our journey since then.

Recalling back to our R0 & R1, our definition was very simple. Being blue is like the sky in the morning; the start of something new, something fresh, and it gives us the energy to start over again. In a sense, it's a very youthful color! Reminds us a lot of sports anime.

A year ago, we came together to form this unnamed group that we ended up calling VERBLUE; a combination of the word ver, which means "true", and the color blue. Since then, our brainstorming has been just on how to define what it means to be a "true blue" kind of group.

Now that PCB is over, I couldn't help but look back on everything VERBLUE did just for this competition as their organizer/(somewhat of)creative director. We shared a lot of ideas and I'm glad it resulted in something real! 🥹 (a long thread 🧵⤵) #VERBLUE #VERBLUE_DirectorsLog
