Startups let you carve your own path. “At startups, if you show initiative and interest, it's easier to move into something that fits your natural abilities, and grow once you’re there. There’s always something new in need of innovation.” 🧵5/6.

An opportunity to build something better. “When the opportunity came along, I was really excited because I’ve always liked serving and helping people, so ZayZoon aligned really well with the way that I like to do work.” 🧵4/6.

There's something about tech. "The reason I went into tech is that in a lot of the jobs I had, I somehow ended up on tech-related initiatives that needed to be completed. I enjoyed that and naturally gravitated towards tech.” 🧵3/6.

Looking for the next challenge. “I grew up on a grain farm. After that, I was a cabinet maker. I also worked for a trucking company. Then I worked in stormwater management, which was a super fun job, but after a while, it didn’t provide enough challenge." 🧵2/6.
