In many ways ‘22 could do one: my 3 remaining grandparents died and cancer ravaged my family. But there were slices of hope: a new job, getting to grips with my mental health and building relationships. Here’s to more hope in ‘23 for all of us.

We’ve created systems to help us move quick on design and establish good foundations and for most companies that’s enough. So layoffs happen. We know that’s not enough. Design and brand are the differentiator that needs to be woven through journeys.

‘You’re less likely to push the boundaries if the template is laid out for you… and I wonder how much it’s influencing some of the issues we’ve been seeing in the industry’. The design industry has to once again justify itself.

I am once again asking where all the Design Discord servers are at?

Right now, I don't need my courier to have a personality. I want to know why the parcel is delayed. It’s ok to have your brand personality in online tools just apply it where appropriate.

I wonder about decisions like this. This is potentially a stressful touchpoint, and DPD Local has decided to use quirky and arguably inaccessible language for the menu and a dark mode toggle. Ok... 🤷‍♂️

Being an inherent people pleaser and a manager means I constantly have to check myself at every interaction: I can’t be everything to everyone all the time. I have to be ok with managing disappointment and frustration in others. Otherwise, I'll be a busy fool.
