Hmm I think the conversation might be more nuanced than victims simply not knowing God for themselves. There is a lot of mind control that goes on in these churches. People usually go to a church because they believe that it will help them in their pursuit of God.

So sad to hear because God is too good. He’s too good for humans to act this way. I pray people really meet Him and He meets them wherever they are and experience Him.
