It started as a young boy’s dream on a piece of paper; It became a 30 year old man’s reality. Thank you @AUB_Lebanon for 12 long years of turning a child into a surgeon. @AUBMC_Official @DrFadloKhuri

Extremely honored to be the recipient of the Dr. Herbert R. Nassour Jr. Surgery Residency Award. Dr. Herbert Nassour's vision and lifetime efforts "to make medical care as common as a cup of coffee" is more relevant today than ever. His inspiring story as a Lebanese-American

Dear new interns, this is advice I got from seniors throughout the years, I pass it to you as you start on this journey: - Med school is over, you are responsible for your own education, no one will spoon-feed you anything, fill your own bucket

One thing living in Lebanon has personally engraved in me is that I no longer take any authority as a source of absolute truth. You give me the facts, the context, and the history and then I'll form my own opinion. Regardless of the potential errors, I'll be more content owning

It is expected to have a sense of disequilibrium following major earthquakes especially the aftershocks. The entity is called "Post-Earthquake Dizziness Syndrome"; poorly studied aside from few reports, mainly from Japan. In case you feel it, you are not alone. #هزة_أرضية

Our dear local and international community, doctors in Lebanon have been sacrificing relentlessly for the past 2 years, this is a small and honourable opportunity to help Dr. Rawad get his hearing aid in these difficult times. Help us spread the message https://t.co/4yCUQUKnyB

For all the broken souls I was able to treat and those I wasn't, during the explosion, the protests, the lack of medication...For all the 8 floors of stairs I took on daily basis... For all the months I had to work so hard for less than a 100$...Today I will vote them all out!

Learn to take a tactical pause, as small as 5 seconds, to zoom out when your palms are sweaty, your vision is narrow and your heart rate is high. Acknowledge that this is your fear response and that you have a way to deal with it. Then jump into the next step and take a decision.

This is to say, that we have to seek the teaching more actively. The first step is teaching residents to recognize their fear response. No one will stop and discuss it with you. It happens to seniors who have been doing this for years. You should not learn that nothing scares you

7/ First Step.. There is no substitute for real world experience. The 80-hour rule, by definition, limits the amount of exposure to real life emergencies that teach with depth. This is not to say that working 120 hours a week increases efficiency or is good for anyone's health.
