This is progress that wouldn’t have happened without the pressure for change we’ve seen this week. But there should be a blanket ban on this feature - it shouldn’t be possible to create sexual deepfakes of anyone, regardless of gender.

This law was passed in June last year, so it’s a shame it had to come to this before the government implemented it, given how predictable this development was. But very pleased they’re taking action to protect people, and particularly women and children, from this form of abuse.

Just FYI. I used to work in film and television. It's literally someone's job to ensure things like exit lights are covered up and don't appear in shot. They don't appear on screen unless it's a deliberate choice.
