I would built it in ruby on rails I have RoR v3.1 app still running in wild with no maintenance at all. Its just a bunch of CRUDs, but it works more than decade with no reboots, no maintenances updates or anything else

Real question: If you needed to build a simple CRUD SaaS, but it has to last decades with minimal/no maintenance, how would you build it?

The problem with smart devices is pretty simple Every device needs a "brain". Many devices can be used locally using home assistant. But other part done in a way to always have online connection to server, so you could use manufacturer fancy app to see if your lights on or off

I hate this future How did we get to the point of buying a device doesn't constitute ownership?

My marketing efforts were super low during October mainly because I have no idea what to do. I try different things, but they all take time to kick in and I don't know if it will work at all This month I want to focus on more manual stuff like trying to get more users to use

Drove 500km yesterday to visit another park. The weather was perfect, +13C, we walked about 10-12km in total and then a dinner at Crimea-kitcher restaurant Btw porsche cars has a flaw - bad noise insulation at 240kmh+ speeds. You gotta talk really loud

No offense, but I starting to trust less to people claiming their app can code whatever in 5 minutes I did enough vibe coding, llm prompting etc to understand - that sometimes it takes even more to get something released comparing t good old manual coding

Hot take 🌶️ App that runs locally isnt a product. It becomes a product when others can try it

Unpopular opinion, since most folks prefer to blame AI for this In reality I noticed same story with local market too - over-hiring during covid with huge salaries and then once its over - lay-offs, salary reduction

To put the big 2025 layoffs in perspective, here are the trends from pre-COVID to now. Tech companies, across the board, over-hired during COVID. Their stock prices were tied to the perception of "growth" which they could manufacture through simply hiring more than they needed.
