We would like to take this opportunity to thank our passengers once again. 2.5 million people travelled with Austrian Airlines in the first quarter, eleven per cent more than in the same quarter last year.

With the three new destinations Bremen, Tbilisi and the long-haul highlight Boston and the introduction of the new long-haul aircraft, the so-called Dreamliners, Austrian Airlines is full of energy for the coming months 🤩🌍.

After reaching an agreement with the vida union and the works council board last week, the focus is now on the upcoming summer operations 💪.

The main reasons for this are the direct financial damage caused by the works council meetings and strikes, the resulting restraints in bookings and a disproportionately high increase in location and personnel costs compared to other EU countries.

Austrian Airlines closed the first quarter of 2024 with an adjusted EBIT of EUR -122 million, which was significantly below the first quarter of 2023 at minus 67 per cent.

The first quarter of 2024 was the second worst Q1 result. Now we are moving full steam ahead towards the summer ✈.
