So no, I wasn’t saying people should look “poor” or “dirty” as some have assumed just to receive help. I was saying food bank initiatives should stay centered on the people they’re meant to serve, especially in how they’re presented online. The end 🙏🏾😘.

My concern was with representation. If someone is invited as an influencer or guest, it should be clear they’re there for promo, not as a beneficiary. Otherwise, it can feel like a misuse of resources and misleading to those who truly rely on these services.

Let me clarify-. I know struggles aren’t always visible. Not everyone who needs support “looks” a certain way. That was never the point. I’ve worked & volunteered at food banks for many years, I'm very aware of the diverse faces of need.
