We weren't sure whether to post this thread. But we decided to be honest about how tough it is to be a small charity working on climate right now. If you just want to do something to help, click here: If you want to read a bit more, here's a 🧵.

London’s air pollution still harms thousands every year. @MayorOfLondon has made great progress, but it’s not enough. We need him to go further and faster to tackle this problem. 📬 Londoners, take action for your health and our climate:

🚨 Policy progress: The Local Government Association now recognises that councils and civil society support a legal duty for climate action. A big step forward, thanks to tireless work by @ClimateEmergUK. How good is your council’s climate action?

What happens when people inside the aviation industry decide they can’t stay silent about the climate crisis?. This powerful film from @safelanding_org shows why fairer flying policies matter more than ever.

The Chancellor says airport expansion will grow the economy. But here’s the truth: business travel is flat, and more Brits fly out than tourists fly in. So who’s benefiting? Mostly wealthy frequent flyers. It’s time they paid for their pollution 👉

Slower speeds mean safer streets. New data shows that 20mph limits are making it easier to walk, cycle, and breathe in London. This is what happens when we design streets for people, not just traffic. Is your borough getting it right? Find out below 👇.

Will you be one of 1,000 people making a small monthly donation towards people-powered climate action?. Thanks for reading, and for letting us be so honest. Let's build something new together.

We're proud of the impact we make as a charity. We've got big plans for heat pumps, home insulation, fixing hubs, clean energy, low-carbon food, rapid public transport expansion and so much more. But we need your support to do it.

With lots of people making small, regular donations, we are:. âś… Resilient to sudden financial shocks.âś… Able to plan for the medium - long term.âś… More closely connected to real people. That's why we're seeking support from people like you who care about climate.

We're trying to inspire 1,000 people to give just ÂŁ2 a month to support our work. We know that sounds like a pretty standard fundraiser. But for us, this is a deliberate attempt to build real resilience against the febrile funding landscape.

The reality is that small charities like us are forced to build our foundations on quicksand. But our work is too important to exist at the permission of hedge funds and oligarchs. We are trying to build a better way. And we need you.

Just this month, we've had a stark reminder of how fragile the funding landscape is here in the UK. One of the few funders dedicated to our sort of work was eviscerated overnight by its asset manager with no warning. Gone.

Up to 80% of global climate philanthropy comes from the US, and it's in jeopardy. President Trump is threatening to remove charitable status from philanthropic foundations. This would have a disastrous domino effect, punishing charities like us.

Astonishingly, just 2% of all philanthropy globally is invested in climate action. (page 8). That alone means that the pie of funding available to charities developing climate solutions is too small. But that's just half the story.

I’ll be totally honest. The funding landscape for small charities is extremely tough. We’re trying to build something new: people powered funding for positive climate action. We don’t know if it’ll work. But we have hope. Can you be part of it?.
