had to fix a broken drain pipe on my ac unit this morning down in crawl space. crazy how much water from condensation that pumps out in this summer heat. i thought it was a broken water pipe at first. .

PSA: there's a certain kind of anon that targets builders. they see your post and immediately want to upgrade it. it can be demoralizing sometimes when you've worked hard to get to your present point. just realize they do that because you've inspired them.

@_Stocko_ i feel like your main issue is actually taxes + shipping fees involved. because the one you listed is like $12 usd here.

everything keeps converging back on the fkn actuators lmao. they're the limiting factor. you can't get away from it. less dof == less capability. we need to get the $/dof down. WAY DOWN.

just spitballing. this is like $50 retail. and i feel like you could build a planetary or cycloidal gearbox for like $20? at least i've seen geared brushed DC motors for that price

i really feel like companies are marking these up just because they can. or maybe it's a supply/demand issue with not enough supply. but looking at the actual parts it seems possible to hit the price point.

are there any all-in-one BLDC robot actuators that are < $100? what i mean is, the interface is power+CAN bus and all the FOC stuff is done on board for you?.
