Although not a native of BRIGHTON, I have grown to love this Piccadilly of the Seaside, this Soho of the waves and I'm writing a book about it.

Mrs Finnegan is back. If you like history & that oft overlooked time between The Regency and the Victorian eras you might like me. If you are scared of strong-minded women and don't wish to associate with housekeepers then you probably won't.

In Kent they believe that if you catch a sparrow you must kill it, otherwise your parents will die which is a good reason not to catch sparrows. Or live in Kent.

Yes, yes in the midst of life there is death...but I can't help feeling the skulls are a bit heavy-handed. I am not a great admirer of babies as a rule, but that one I think I could tolerate.

You are mistaken, Mr. Darcy, if you suppose that the mode of your declaration affected me in any other way, than as it spared the concern which I might have felt in refusing you, had you behaved in a more gentlemanlike manner ~ Jane Austen

Don't lutes come in different sizes in heaven? This little chap needs something smaller.

I endeavour to see the good in all men, but the butler makes it as taxing as climbing a very high mountain in old slippers during a thunderstorm.

I often wonder what my epithet will be...the most humble and patient housekeeper there has ever been? Perhaps...

I'm not looking my best. Had I known that signing one’s name and composing encouraging little messages would be SO exhausting I might have thought trice before bowing to PUBLIC demand and becoming an authoress.

If you have invested in my Guide to Love, Life and Laxatives you may be wondering how you should look after it. In a word: carefully. Do not turn a page if you have handled offal, treated a dog for distemper or scrubbed chamber pots. https://t.co/gK42OHQMqD

Is it known if the fishes replied? I wonder if theological debates were conducted on the river banks...
