We won! Organizations including @Mozilla and @EFF took our signatures to @Zoom_us, calling on it to make #e2ee available to all, and it listened: https://t.co/87XavDF5Tk If they now stop raiding our calendars #Zoom would be even better.

Zoom’s decision comes on the heels of loud -- and deserved -- opposition by tens of thousands of consumers, and also organizations like Mozilla, EFF, and others.

No, electronic contact-tracing and biosurveilance restrict our privacy and freedom. Do not be fooled into thinking that such tracking and surveillance will not impact our freedoms. Fight for privacy!

Electronic contact tracing for #COVID19 is the “icing on the cake” says @aneeshchopra. The cake is the public health intervention: traditional contact tracing and biosurveillance. You can easily opt out of the former; but not the latter. @CNBC #facebooklive

Only #distributed and decentralised #COVID19 software is potentially #trustworthy. Let's not implement dangerous technology in this crisis. #security #privacy

We've know this for years with #digitalidentity and now it's becoming abundantly clear with #COVIDSafe apps: The risks are too high with centralization, decentralized architectures are the only way to go. @AnnCavoukian

For consumer confidence and no #compliance backlash any #contracttracing apps must be #opensource (so we can see the code) and of course must use #security and #privacybydesign. #COVID19 #covid19nz

Audit finds #contracttracing problems due to lack of interoperability between healthcare data systems. It is fixable within healthcare. No justification for mass contact tracing. #COVID19nz
rnz.co.nz
Contact tracing needs to increase three- or four-fold as long as the Covid-19 coronavirus remains a health threat, Dr Ayesha Verrall's audit has found.

Mass #contact_tracing will not work. Opt-out, unistalls, lack of 100% device/network coverage and #bluetooth problems mean that mass #contact_tracing will only deliver partial data.
