You're right with how this is an uphill battle. Agreed that we (at Solana Fndn) can do more marketing, and we want to. But while there's room to grow, there is 100% a dedicated games community here already.

1- Developing VR solutions is no easy feat, but there’s definitely a subtle chicken or egg dilemma playing out
Previously there hasn’t been enough quality VR content to compel mass adoption, nor enough of an established hardware/user base to incentivize more developers to build.
At some point, VR will stick with consumers.
The headsets (Oculus Quest 2 @ $299/$399) are cheap enough for mass adoption, but there is a holdup.
Software - the vast majority of VR experiences are still not worth more than one week of consistent use, their novelty apps.

Music discovery is social by nature.
It feels kinda counterintuitive that users have to actually LEAVE Spotify every time they want to share a song with a friend.
And then they get distracted by responding to a text or pausing their music to watch an Instagram Reel.

2- More users make the ecosystem more valuable for developers & vice versa. So scale is important, making VR a winner-take-most market.
Thus there’s a first mover advantage- anyone that follows will have to provide more value than the leader, with fundamentally worse economics

I previously wrote an article & business case on why remote work could be the best oppty & easiest problem for AR/VR to tackle right now
This is feasible. Esp if company travel budgets can foot the bill
