Managing cash is difficult and can look like a rollercoaster. That’s why maintaining working capital is so crucial. The total difference in the chart is less than $2k over the 11 months, but there’s a huge difference in how the bank acct looks in Mar vs Sept or Nov.

Everybody talks about owning a business for the income and the freedom. Nobody talks about having to dismiss an employee a week before Christmas.

Networking, Personal connections, Word of mouth referrals, are sooo valuable and the single best lead flow that you can have. The key for 2026 is how much of this can you generate?

Having 10,000 items in your pricebook isn’t a pricing strategy. Having flat rate prices isn’t a pricing strategy. How technicians price Jobs should be clear, concise, and consistent throughout the company.

Lazy Leverage is a great pod! Speaks the truth straight and raw. All while being entertaining. However, I’m gonna need some video evidence of these 50 burpees in 2 mins. Not impossible, just not likely. @MatznerJon

The Struggle is when you are surrounded by people and you are all alone. The Struggle is when you are having a conversation with someone and you can’t hear a word that they are saying because all you can hear is the Struggle. B. Horowitz

Things no one tells you about running a small business. Having to tell the candidate that came for a Job Shadow to leave because he smells too bad to send him into customers homes.

Teach me how to fish and I will feed myself. My go to response to the Service Titan reps when I’m looking for data, reports, or embedded information not easily accessible from the standard reports and dashboards.

Dropping the Ball: A customer has a complaint about their experience. They call in and request to be called back by management. 5 days go by before finally being contacted for their concerns. FIVE DAYS!!! 🤬

It seems that there’s always this juggling act between having more demand than fulfillment and then as soon as resources are staffed and ready, having more fulfillment than demand.

Driving into work this morning I realized that 3 yrs ago I was stressed wondering how many team members were going to call out. Today, that wasn’t even a question. Baby steps are still steps. Keep moving forward.

There’s nothing quite like questioning ChatGPT on whether Gemini, Grok, or Claude would be better suited to answer my questions and then get an “I’ll be blunt” response on why it’s just a Python problem and not solvable using those “other” models.

I was on a conference call this afternoon when it hit me, for the last 10 wks we’ve been in attack mode vs a defensive hold off, wait and see strategy. It feels good to be driving success instead along for the ride.
