And it's there Zack waits, knowing Aerith will come wearing pink as she promised. The flowers of reunion surround this scene and ZA as a whole - for instance adorning their Valentine's Day profile with it - ZA will yet be together again, in part 3, and it will happen right there.

And it's not just the events before Rebirth, it's after too! In ACC we see Zack's Buster Sword resting in the church and Aerith's flowers on Zack's grave. It's where ZA joke about adopting Cloud and then they both walk off into the light, together always. It's their place...

Nojima writes that, during the two years of ZA dating that it's the place Zack would come for healing. TWO YEARS of meeting each other there. It's where they met, fell in love, even went into business together. How could it be CAs when Cloud is there for a few minutes and done?

The usage of quotation marks around "our place", coupled with Cloud's confusion about where Aerith is referencing - and the scene panning IMMEDIATELY to Zack waiting for Aerith by the Church - only further reinforces what was made clear in Crisis Core: it's her place with ZACK 🧵

Nothing goes right, Cloud is uninterested (and unable to play the role, such as knowing where "their place" is) everyone is negative, the people repeatedly mention that CA ain't it. This is Aerith's emotions confirming what she already knew - only Z can fit the hole in her heart

These 2 scenes serve as bookends to Zack’s interlude. They’re connected. He asks a question; Marlene gives him an answer—but Aerith gives Cloud another. Which kind of “like” is it? The stage is now set for this to be resolved in Part 3 when Z & A reunite. #Zerith

This Zerith week take time to note the differences. How we love this franchise and this gorgeous couple, so beautifully crafted with love by the Devs. How they can do nothing but attack, attack, attack. We are the real Aerith fans, don't let them tell you otherwise.

Their hatred towards Zack would REPULSE Aerith, so too their rhetoric towards Tifa would do to Cloud. These people don't care. They hate Zack. They hate Tifa. Their very existence means CA cannot happen. Hell, they hate FF7 too. It's not enough and will never be what they want.

In truth, the LTD died decades ago when Aerith dies and reunites with Zack in the Lifestream and Cloud/Tifa expressed their love for each other under the Highwind (two events that occur regardless of whether one sees it) But Cleriths keep it alive by delusions and false hope...

It's noted that CAs spend all day attacking ZA (and CT) with a special venom reserved for Z (and T) - it's to be expected. ZA/CT exist on their own. We don't need to continually justify them, they are canon. CA persists in their heads alone and cannot sail without attacking Z & T

IMO the most poignant moment in the franchise: as the DMW crashes around him and his final breath draws near, Zack's last thoughts are not his ambitions, his friends, his family or his pride - it's Aerith. This one silent scene demonstrates his love for her far greater than words
