to the point I can't book my own events without others going in DMs to say if they play my event they can't play at other events. Clearly your only tactic is social manipulation because if you had to meet me head on for what is a quality event I would own you.

legit this entire space is dying because groups that held it up were both tech savvy and had a vision and loved music, what is left is sociopaths that couldn't identify good music if it slapped them in the face. their only grace is a combination of tribalism and bullying others

we might agree a lot of music is good but if you're toxic and tribal to the point others quit the game it doesn't matter if we like similar music anymore.. I've seen too many friends give up their venues or quit lately. Something has to give.

ultimately the entire old PLUR scene of vrchat is dead for music and art and the only thing that matters is who you associate with and what your opinions are. it's frankly disgusting where I may care a lot about taste but if you're a fucking asshole it doesn't matter

and it all comes down to people feeling like if they don't bend the knee they will be outcasted from something they ultimately view as a hobby where they don't want to even deal with it so bullies just run rampant and have no checks on them

the divisiveness of this space is so bad that totally neutral entities try to book an event that don't care about parasocial bullshit have to wonder who hates each other, can't even make a lineup because it's so fucked

and imo a lot of the culprits making a safe space, like ok cool, glad we get bad actors out, but they couldn't recognize good music if it dick slapped them in the face

a lot of my friends don't even log on and when they do they are very aware of how divisive and toxic this space is
