Overall, I would give The Stranger 4.5 stars out of 5. It felt monotone at times, with things being stated very simply, but I believe that is a strength, as it is a reminder of who Meursault is. A man who says what he believes is needed, and nothing more.

It was as Meursault said. He did not love Marie, nor do I believe he loved anyone. To him, friends were just people he could remember the name of. His mother was just someone he could no longer care for by himself. I especially like that he seems unreliable at times.

Book review. The Stranger by Albert Camus was amazing. To me, it felt like a look into another world that I would never understand. A world reigned by indifference and without any ambition to do anything, he simply did what he figured he should.
