Iowa State's athletic department is not (and won't be) a cash cow. Jamie Pollard is not perfect. But vaguely framing the current cutbacks as mismanagement while barely mentioning the fact that the ENTIRE COLLEGE SPORTS WORLD HAS BEEN FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN feels gross.

I guess this wouldn't have gotten clicks:. ISU Athletics — facing a $20M annual budget increase without the cushion of increased conference revenue — is confronting the same systemic challenges most FBS programs are facing, and doing it with transparency and a proactive approach.
ISU Athletics — facing a $147M budget deficit through 2031, or just under $25M annually over the next 6 yrs — is rolling out painful concessions, including indefinitely postponing construction of a $25M Hilton Coliseum renovation.
