This is the first month since I began playing classical chess that I do not have a single classical chess game scheduled. What to do with all of this free time?😧

Played some decent chess last weekend. Went 4/5 (3 wins, 2 draws). Had to play all my games on a little stage and even played on board 1 in the last round, which was so scary. People were constantly hovering around my board. 😶🌫️

Happy with how the tourney went. Got 4.5/9. I am gaining around 26 Elo and 54 DWZ. Unfortunately, my DWZ was 12 points too high; otherwise, I would have been in a lower rating group and would have won a prize.

In round 1 I was playing white against an 1800. It was an exciting Benoni. I was better for most of the game, but due to time trouble, I decided to force a draw. Now I am relaxing by taking a calm (and cold) walk around the playing hall.

Today I played the German women's U8 champion. I had a winning position and saw an easy way to convert it, but then I overthought things and believed another move was winning too, and faster. So I played it instead and threw my advantage away. In the end we drew. 😥

After having a terrible October chess-wise and having lost a combined rating (FIDE elo + national rating) of 120+ points. I am starting to get back in form. Just earned my 3rd classical win in a row. Slowly beginning to believe in myself again.

The little pawn I had to crochet for my coach so he won't steal my lucky pawn anymore. (That, of course, was the only reason for my disastrous tournament performance.)

When will I learn not to paint with acrylic paints while sitting in my bed? No, not even if it's just small touch-ups. I will get paint everywhere, and the paint in the bedsheets won't ever get out. 😮💨

So to clarify because some people are desperately trying to defend this behavior, no, it wasn't a misunderstanding. We are both German, so the original wording was "artiges Mädchen," which I translated to "good girl," but the German version is even more icky.

Seriously, what are some men thinking? Calling your 20-year-younger chess opponent a "good girl" after a match is just inappropriate.

I am playing a tourney again, and it is going so badly. My brain simply completely stopped working. Currently I'm sitting on the bus to the playing hall and just now noticed that I took the bus two hours early.

I just found out the 900 DWZ kid I drew a couple of weeks ago beat a former 2060 player on Sunday. Now I don't feel as bad anymore about the game we played.

As an asexual, I will say that Freestyle chess and sex do have in common, that I find neither of them interesting.
As you now brought it up, I will say that Freestyle chess and sex do have in common, that randomizing starting positions can make it more interesting.
