You’re a HS senior right now committed to XYZ D1 school.
You show up to campus in fall w/ other FR in ur class BUT then you look around & realize there are a bunch of other FR in the room that are a year older than u, had yr of D1 strength training/coaching & PLAYED games 😮 😥
@jordanaronson_
That’s a great question. Easy answer is work hard and prepare yourself.
Real answer, get ready for adversity and a tough road. Might have to redshirt or sit, if so be a great teammate and keep your eye on the prize.

Definitely tough situation for all involved. But Lord willing they get 4 years to play college ball, even though they’ll experience added adversity. But to give seniors their last season to play collegiate baseball back I think is worth it. But no perfect answer to any of this
@ZacCole_
This is a real issue for all HS seniors. I am aware of one player who commited to a D1 but they have 7 seniors now returning so instead will go to another D1 where most will be drafted vs come back.
@ZacCole_
When the NCAA first talked about giving seniors an extra year I was on board but as I think through the potential short term and long term consequences, I don’t think it’s right. Helping one year of graduates while directly impacting four other graduate classes doesn’t seem right
@ZacCole_
I still think there was merit to my plan to have a shortened fall season with seniors return if wanted and conf/national championship They play intrasquads and scrimmages all fall season anyway JC's and Hs not eligible then roll on back to normal in spring No brainer
@Racer_Aggie
That would definitely help alleviate the log jam of players. Definitely could have been some outside the box ideas such as this explored further. Thank you for the reply.
@ZacCole_
Don’t forget about the 23/24 year old seniors still in the room. Incoming Freshmen better come ready or else it’s going to be a long road to playing time.
