Take away batting avg, slg, era, K’s, whip, or any other stat you want. Some kids are winners! They weren’t born that way, they earned it through life experience. They learned to thrive under pressure, to perform when it matters. Find those guys & you quickly become a good coach.

What bad recruiting guys do… I call it performance recruiting.
Show up and a kid goes 4-4 and you sign him, kid goes 0-4 and you pass. More to recruiting than a game or two eval.
If you go to an Angels game and Trout goes 0-4 is he a bad player? Heck no, he’s still a HOFer.
