9/The launch saw 40 young women starting a 2 day training in making hand sanitizers and masks. The YWCA's Vision is to provide, co-ordinate and facilitate technical and enterpreneuship skills and management training that support the empowerment of women all in fear of the Lord.

8/"The program is meant to support young women to sustain themselves. Economic hardships have forced young women& girls to engage in risky sexual relationships.This puts them at risk of contracting STIs.Some of the relationships result in unplanned pregnancies &unsafe abortions

7/She said it was her wish to see the success of women’s projects, hence she will continue working with them for the fulfilment of her vision.

6/Speaking at the launch the YWCA National General Secretary, Mrs Mukamuri urged young women to start income-generating projects that help improve the lives of families and contribute to the country’s macro-economic development.

5/ Part of the discussions included grooming, social media and peer pressure, project empowerment, sexual health, drugs, HIV and youth, hygiene, business empowerment, gender-based violence (GBV), sexual abuse, national identity and heritage.

4/YWCA joined the fight against Covid-19 by launching a mask & sanitiser production project with the aim to empower young women as well as help to contain the spread of the novel virus.The Launch saw a no-holds-barred, interaction on a number of issues that affect young women.

3/The whole world has been ravaged by Covid-19 pandemic, which has already claimed millions of lives accross the globe. Zimbabwe has not been immune to the global trends where countries are battling against the backdrop of challenges caused by the covid-19 pandemic.

2/This is being done anchoring on five strategic areas of intervention namely education, economic empowerment, reproductive health rights, safety and protection as well as leadership development.

1/The government of Zimbabwe has created an enabling environment for the empowerment of women so that they can have a better, future. With the aim of making efforts to complement the government #YWCA has come up with a program targeting to empower young women .
