According to Tik-Tok, the life of a coder is big bags, chill schedules and centering the f*ck out of divs. Reality is a bit different:

LinkedIn, so cringe... do you agree? It doesn't have to be. I spoke to a 7 foot CEO about how to use LI to your advantage, be anti-cringe and create genuine connections. He breaks down a content strategy for you to steal. https://t.co/xTWdFxVTAh

My best networking hack? Get a podcast. I recently interviewed one of my favorite tech YouTubers @jherr who shares tips for junior devs learning React and JS, his takes on the tech content creator space and how he deals with dyslexia. https://t.co/gFN7b6Vzq3

A couple years ago I started making challenges for JS devs who want to learn the hard stuff. Migrations, unit tests, caching strategies and all the stuff that you usually learn by trial and error. It isn't great for beginners but if you actually do the projects, you're going

This video I created on how to suck less at getting a job in software has a lot more negative comments than usual. I get it. I'm not saying that it's easy to get hired. I'm just saying, if you were my friend, this is the advice I'd give you

I've seen too many resumes and LinkedIn profiles for "aspiring developers" You can't get hired because you don't have experience. You can't get experience because you aren't hired. I've written about this topic too much but most of you don't read 😅 Here's a video I sincerely

Outside of FAANG interviews, I have NEVER been asked to traverse a tree or reverse a linked list. I did however once get asked to create a snake game with HTML, CSS and JS. I'm not sure how related it was to the role but it was pretty fun. 😅 Because I like you and you're

I own a coding bootcamp and I'll admit that everything we teach can be learned online. There are 420 tutorials on React, NextJS, Node and AWS released just this week. I don't advertise this as much - but what you're really paying for is the career change. Learning to code is

“Been rejected after 4+ rounds of interviews four times now (and counting). Applied to over 100 jobs, been auto rejected by about half, despite meeting all the qualifications.” “The market is brutal right now - brutal. Over saturation…” These aren’t quotes from software

Most people trying to start their own business focus on: - landing page - offer creation - website - email sequences - social media When they skipped an important step: - have a skill or product to solve a problem I break down how I started a 5 figure side business after

Got laid off at the end of March. I just verbally accepted an offer yesterday (not sure if I will take it 🤫) Here are some themes I noticed that continue to come up in my job searches, including this one: - Working with recruiters is key. All my interviews came from recruiters

Whiteboard interview are biased, completely irrelevant to the job and discourage self-taught devs from applying! True... I guess. Or you know, learn enough sys design and DSA to be dangerous instead of avoiding it for your whole career.

The economics of the junior developer: Junior dev joins a new company for below market rate. They bumble around and learn, and feel guilty for being so… junior. Company is banking on the junior staying for longer than they are junior. Now, instead of paying market rate for a

Unit tests are a waste of time. Instead of taking minutes to write a test you can just: - write your code - manually replicate all the scenarios you want to test - pray for the best and have your QA team ensure it all works Now that it works, don't touch it! 😅 When done
