Great news that @LeTour is coming back to the UK in 2027. Gives me a chance to wheel this photo of mine out again of the pro peloton snaking up Buttertubs Pass during the Grand Depart near Leeds in 2014 for the 'Le Tour de Yorkshire'.

Random thing to ask on here, but is anyone in need of a lot of stoma and catheter products? Got a lot of surplus, all sealed and unused. Suppliers don't want it back and being given the runaround trying to dispose of it properly.

Cracking autumnal colours out there today in West Lancs. Just needed some bright blue skies to make these pics pop, but sadly it's a very grey day.

I always wonder if the little old lady who shouted at me for moving in front of her to take this pic ever regretted it. Note: The position was secured six months in advance thanks to the Marriott and @lpoolcouncil

Seven years ago today since I took this photo. Where does the time go?

Only the one tree to clamber over this morning on my bike ride after #StormAmy - this one blocking the West Derby Village entrance to Croxteth Park.

Labour Party Conference in Liverpool City centre today. Had wanted to see the Spanish talk ship at the Albert Dock, but the trains are all off from Kirkby and Aintree, so back to the most reliable mode of transport invented.

You know what's great for stress? Riding your bike. Had a horrible week and then some. Struggled to pedal at first, but soon got going and now feel great. Amazing, isn't it. It's the 21st Century, but nothing can beat getting out in nature. Especially during Autumn 🍂

Worked very, very hard and loved every minute of that job. Must have made a mark, as many of my pics are still used regularly today despite switching to comms two years ago.

Funny how this one job started a love affair as I crisscrossed Lancashire so many times and discovered how amazing of a patch I had (and I covered Cumbria, too).

Wow, four years ago, I made a comeback of sorts and returned to press photography by saying 'cheese' to the creator of Wallace & Gromit Nick Park as my first job working for @LiveLancs

UPDATE: Ended up being 4am before he was moved to a corridor. Mad, isn't it. He is still there now. Utter nuts that's something to aspire to when taking your elderly parent in for urgent medical care.

Now in the back of ambulance number two, but at least this one is able to administer some emergency antibiotics. Silver lining at the drive through A&E at Aintree Hospital.

You expect these sorts of scenes during a major incident, but not for a regular Wednesday night in Liverpool.

More ambulances are being sent over to transfer people already in the back of ambulances into other ambulances to let the crews leave.

So, just to recap, arrived at Aintree at 5.30pm to be told no beds, no space on the corridor, no space in the waiting area, no space in even the foyer. Only other option was to stay in the back of the ambulance. Absolutely disgusting way to treat an 84 year old needing help.

Pain relief requested by the ambulance crew over an hour ago. Still no sign of it - nor any chance of being moved from the back of the ambulance into the foyer. Terrible when you're holding out hope for your loved one to be put in a glorified conservatory for medical attention.

Still sat in the ambulance outside. No sign of any movement yet. Sadly, the ambulance crew can't leave either until a&e have a space.

There's maybe six to eight people on stretchers in the ambulance foyer, an area normally used for storing blankets and empty trolleys. This is the worst that I have ever seen. No idea how long we have to wait in the ambulance - just for a space on the corridor or foyer.
