Jonathan Bailey said Fiyero is the equivalent of the female love interest in the action movie. Fiyero is basically Elphabas prize for making it out of Oz alive. Jon Chu even made sure Fiyero remained hot as a scarecrow bc Elphie deserves a hot husband.
@ineedanapplebox fiyero plays a female role within the story of wicked. Oz has majority female leaders this really isn't how i read it at all. its not "it relies on a man" its "shes looking for someone who understands and shares her ideals" . the story isnt framing fiyero as anything else
