Year 5 had such fun making their Christmas cards today. They were so careful when creating snowflakes to decorate them and they turned out beautifully! We hope you like them! @RodbourneCheney

Year 5 loved making up their own warm up activities for dodgeball in PE this week. They had great ideas and thought carefully about how to develop their skills and ensure they were moving enough to increase their heart rates! @RodbourneCheney

Today we created beautiful African silhouette paintings. The children used paint to create the sunset background and then black card for the silhouettes of the animals. They are wonderful! @RodbourneCheney

This afternoon, we learned about the parts of flowering plants which allow them to reproduce. The children then enjoyed looking carefully at different flowers to see if they could identify the parts we had learned about. @RodbourneCheney

Wow Year 5, your writing this week is exceptional! They wrote a diary entry from the perspective of Sudan, a rhino from our text ‘Last’. Writing about his first day back in the Savannah, they included grammar features including dashes and rhetorical questions. @RodbourneCheney

Following on from our fabulous Banksy artwork, we created our own Banksy inspired stencils. The children then used these to create another similar piece. I’m sure you will agree that they are rather wonderful! Well done Year 5! @RodbourneCheney

This afternoon, we conducted an investigation into water resistance. We created different 3D shapes with play doh and found out which sunk through water the quickest. We discovered that those with greater surface areas took longer to sink. Great work scientists! @RodbourneCheney

Wow Year 5! I love our Banksy inspired art work. We used stencils and felt tips to create the background and then large stencils and spray paint to complete them. They’re wonderful- well done! @RodbourneCheney
