This is definitely how a cult starts. Is it the truth, is it a business plan, is it revenge, has enough time passed that most people don't care either way? The only thing that can be said for certain is damn that GooDoc was 1000 pages long.

β¨ Good morning, Pyro Pups. β¨π
Today feels different. Yesterday changed things. Hearts are full, minds are racing, and the path forward seems both clearer and more delicate than ever. Whatever you're feeling today, it's okay. Whether you're hopeful, hesitant, relieved, or

Kinda seems like Google Documents are the low security prison for InterWeb Offense; if you don't handle your business & personal dealings (often commingled now) privately you are banished from the public circles to write a report (citations required) until a public parole hearing

And starting to see reactions to the document, was Red the bad guy all along? Did Sinder really have no idea whatsoever what was going on, couldn't even have pieced it together that she was taking advantage of her friend? Not implausible but too convenient https://t.co/InrimwYoJI
I am currently reading all 1000 pages of the Sinder doc on stream and my conclusions so far are that Sinder legitimately did nothing wrong here except date Red. Like lowkey I think others are at fault and there is enough evidence to support that π€¨ If you hate me for this take,

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty fuzzy on the details of what originally happened at this point, Sinder was holding Nano back for a competitive advantage was my takeaway from that situation, and a decent portion of her time away was putting a huge doc of screenshots together

The story doesn't seem to change much, it just fleshes out what was already known, it has plenty of screen shots of background DMs, haven't seen anyone question their authenticity, and long story short Red was doing more shenanigans and a "rigger was overbooked" stood out.

How much do people even care about the content of the document when they want what they want regardless of the facts? How many people like me are just rubbernecking because it's just the most interesting piece of gossip that will be making the live stream/reaction rounds?

Google documents being meta for these internet fights over reputation is a fun observation I keep seeing, is a bigger document more impressive because it seems like a lot of detailed information, but a lot of people just aren't going to read that, so you have a bunch of summaries

Well it's been long enough for most people to forget why Sinder disappeared in the first place, I remember at least one tweet last week of somebody hoping that Sinder comes back, personally I never even heard of her until the drama happened. I tried to read the doc, it won't load

I'm glad Peter Molyneux recognizes his career needs to be redeemed, so even though I enjoy using his name pejoratively to describe development scuffed by braggadocio, I do enjoy an underdog comeback story
His upcoming game, Masters of Albion, is going to be his last. https://t.co/DB1QAF01yj

which wouldn't have been possible without the prior success and established fanbase that convinced Square Enix it could sell enough copies to justify the investment, remakes are still a pathway to new and original experiences and it's sensible as a business model to boot.

I think it's lost on the average consumer but iteration is a cornerstone of how artistic media grows and evolves; a work of art is never truly completed, the artist just stops working on it. The way Final Fantasy 7 Remake/Rebirth was handled is a testament to that, the scale of

Also seems like people underestimate the challenge of remaking an old game, like anything they programmed a couple decades ago must be way easier to do now, especially when older game design was built around limitations that have since been removed

Beyond that, the idea "I already played the original I don't need a remake" is backed up by most of the people playing a remake having never played the original as much as 4 to 1 in community polls, so it's fine because it largely appeals to new audiences anyway.

To me, saying remakes are bad for a studio is like saying doing support work or porting between PC and console is bad for studios, it may not be the most gratifying work but it may be necessary to keep them solvent until they have a breakout success, it can be valuable experience

The idea that remakes take up development time that could be spent on new games isn't unfounded, but it's unrealistic to assume every studio has a banger in the chamber they'd definitely get funding for and be able to make without a hitch starting from scratch if not preoccupied

I think remakes are also good for the players, a lot of older games are more enjoyable with modern QoL features like faster loading times, save states, and the only reason it gets marketing to put it in front of people is because it's a new product to sell.
