Sometimes I wonder ”What would I I was not a Software engineer? This is the only job I am able to do.” Thinking about it, I realised I would just be homeless or gambling in some online game.

The three stages of a crypto “enthusiast”: Stage 1: Crypto is a scam (before reading about crypto) Stage 2: Crypto is a revolution (after reading and meeting a couple crypto people) Stage 3: 99% of Crypto is a scam (after working in crypto)

When someone tells me they work in Crypto, it either means: 1. They are an engineer or in finance. 2. They scam people for a living. Way too many charlatans hiding behind the "I do crypto" phrase. Especially since crypto is technically challenging and most have 0 tech knowledge

Yikes. @stablegains took USDC and USD via wire from customers promising them 15%, put it all into Anchor without telling them, and skimmed 4% off the top. They have now changed the denominations in their app from USD to UST and are nuking the landing page & old terms. (1/2)

Had to go back to Norway. Saw the price of a bus ticket and a gym membership. My depression came back.

Update on donation campaign. They managed to buy a generator for electricity with the money we sent. They said they are the only ones in Rivne that was able to buy one because of our donations. Action still matters.
For anyone wondering where to donate. Here is a fund setup in Rivne one of the strategic military points between Belarus and Ukraine. Any donation will go directly to support sanitary work in the region. This a direct donation. No middle man.

It took a while to convince them to open. It's a local guy with a binance account and a card. He is a lender and can match up to 120k. That's how long his funding reliable holds.

Every single Norwegian company I worked with had a department in Ukraine. The need is simply impossible to meet and Indians are too far away both culturally and time wise. Also India reached prime competition similar to US for top talent. Ukraine in the end approached the same.

This is something most are not aware of. Much of the world's infrastructure was moved to India, then Ukraine. The event has an impact for many if not most IT companies. Some rely on 50-80% of their outsourced Ukranian staff.
Two things I’ve found interesting this past week: 1. I knew a lot of Silicon Valley companies had engineering hubs in Ukraine, but I still underestimated how much of the work in Silicon Valley happens there 2. Many of those companies anticipated this and had planned well

Chernobyl is only one of Ukrainas nuclear power plants. Rivne, which is currently under attack has a huge one. If one Russian jet get's the idea to blow them up, it's a MASSIVE global problem.
Data from the automated radiation monitoring system of the exclusion zone, which is available online, indicate that the control levels of gamma radiation dose rate (red dots) have been exceeded at a significant number of observation points.

Looks like we are moving to Istanbul for a few months until the Ukraine/Russia conflict calms down. If any of you guys are in Istanbul let me know 🙌

Seeing Blizzard/Activision bought by Microsoft is super positive. I spent the last year of my competitive time complaining about the companies operations and values. Greedy, little innovation and horrible company cultur. Maybe Microsoft can turn this thing around.

I really do think there is a high likelyhood of an invasion, several anarchy states across the world and a really shitty economy.

I'm most likely gonna go to another country for a couple months tho. However, the amount of stable countries has really dropped in the last year. Europe is mostly extremely slow for official processes. Need to find some place friendly towards foreigns.
