Tonight's full moon marks the mid-Autumn festival in Chinese culture. Also known as the Mooncake Festival, its the equivalent of the autumn harvest celebrations. This old melody, 'Under the Silver Moon,' features in my own piece Xinjiang Fantasy from my album Guitar Favourites.

It always feels special returning to my home town, & extra special to play at the prestigious NCPA with my parents in the audience. I'm just off stage after tonight's concert with the wonderful violinist Ning Feng. Our next concert is Shanghai Concert Hall on Saturday night.

For my upcoming concerts in China with celebrated violinist Ning Feng, we'll each play a solo originally written for the other instrument. Paganini's Caprice 24 is as devilishly difficult on guitar as on violin!

The beautiful Estrellita by Manuel Ponce - I recorded the song with @ailynperezsop on her Mi Corazón album. It inspired me to bring this solo version to audiences on my USA tour starting later this month. The guitar is by French luthier Amélie Bouvret.
