Using survey data, I found that Chinese people support both the GFW and citizen reporting. However, citizen reporting was more appreciated and its support is even stronger connected with people's favorability of the government. (3/5).

This study focused on the GFW and citizen reporting. The latter significantly differs from the former in that it targets particular information deemed harmful by ordinary Internet users, thus providing a more diffuse system and bottom-up perspective of online censorship. (2/5).
