Underground work from years ago. It takes work to get better at the professional level. Trained dirty almost every day for a whole season. This was pregame on a Sunday. I still remember 2 years later. Facing a lefty, so working on getting the barrel square out in front.

Batting average doesn’t matter anymore? The top 5 teams for batting average are in first place.

I watch games almost everyday. It's AMAZING how many pitchers are hitting hitters' bats.

Earlier in the game. This is efficient sequencing. Making 95 mph into 99 mph, then tunneling off of it.

Alvarado then hits Alexander's bat with an 86 mph slider that he was on time for. Alvarado threw it in the speed range Alexander could cover. Alvarado throws his fastball up in the zone or inside, and he gets him.

Full at bat here. It's amazing how many pitchers are hitting hitters' bats. Alvarado is throwing 99 mph but throwing it away, making the effective velocity 95 mph. Alexander is still late even though he is making his fastball much slower for him.

Exploring a few years back on how we can more effectively activate the oblique slings. We want the right muscles firing when we start swinging our bat. HOW we create force is everything.

You have to care. It's about them and their career not you.

Teaching only one method and hoping it fits everyone, isn't it. We have to be adaptable to help as many hitters as possible. If your hitter isn't getting results, you should feel responsible and alter what you teach to help them get better results.

Everyone thinks they are "right" in this industry. You have to have conviction. It's about having the level of care to look inward. Why is player X not getting the results we both want? How can I alter my teaching to help him take the next step?.

Close the gap with water bags. Close the gap with your actual bat and swing. Learn how to decel properly so the barrel can slingshot forward, getting the barrel delivered.

If we create all this separation but don't close the gap, it doesn't matter. Your prep work should be channeled to this, and it DIRECTLY has to transfer to the actual swing with an actual bat.

People talk about hip/shoulder separation. To get "stretch," I get it. At the end of the day we have to close the gap in the kinematic sequence for the barrel to get delivered and to win the race out in front.

It's never about the "brand." It's about the player. Help the player achieve what they want to do. It's not so you can get some mic'd up content so you can hear yourself talk. It's not about you. It's about the player.

Hitting flares to the opposite field isn't "using the whole field." Forcing oppo rounds is making a lot of hitters worse. Guiding and forcing the ball oppo. I want hitters to DRIVE the ball oppo.

Getting the barrel square, then going THROUGH the ball. Good spin off the bat while getting the bat head out. This turns into OPS. We still maintain proper posture and spacing. NOT spinning to get the bat head out. BIG difference. One plays in the cage. One plays in the game.
