I made a profile on another social site! Just in case this one ceases to be around in the future. Link in bio, since Twitter would otherwise hide this.

And if you have need for a work-for-hire solo game dev who loves build and release automation and DevOps you know what to do. Prototypes and art installations are particularly fun projects.

Now's a good time to subscribe to the Mystcraft Patreon so I can dedicate time. https://t.co/UbyrSERkrH A huge thanks to the folks who supported Mystcraft through the past year, despite a general quiet. Progress was made, but it was very slow and not particularly visible.

That's me! :P I put my company on ice for a little while while I was employed at Verifa. It's been a great year with them, and I'll miss seeing them every week. Still looking forward to doing more with them in the future.

Thread: I work in an arcane field where the job requires specific technical knowledge, built on a ladder of understanding and breakthroughs going back over 100 years. It's not immunology but it's not nothing.

Debate is only good for getting ideas and options out there, looking at pros and cons of an action, that kind of thing. At the end if the day, you have to make a decision, and that should be another process entirely. It should be informed by facts and data.

Indulging the "DEBATE ME!" shitheels does nothing to further the truth. It is exhausting because its purpose is to exhaust you and no credible person should do it.

I found a pub with an inverted normal map. If you understand what this means, you have to retweet.

I feel like Finland needs to take a page out of France's book.

Big news in Finland summarized: The xenophobes and wealthy business managers take charge of the government. Set forth a plan to reduce worker protections and make it harder to get into the country. Their platform going in was lower taxes and gas prices. I am unsurprised.

Thanks @NordicGame for a fantastic conference in Malmö last week. Zach had a blast, met loads of cool people and saw some great demos. Check out Zach’s recorded session 🎮 The Lazy Game Dev’s Guide to #Automation 🎮  https://t.co/LY8FePyyY0 #gamedev #devops #gamedevelopment

Immensely proud for Finland winning the Nordic Game Awards, but the fact that it's actually a Sàmi game is such an incredible feeling! Congratulations to Red Stage Entertainment for Skábma - Snowfall!

I really loved Tomas Sala's (@FalconeerDev) talk this morning at Nordic Game Conference. I don't know if it will be available online later, but if it is I highly recommend it. A bright inspiration in the face of a scary future.

Indie and small studio Devs, do folks going to Nordic Game Conference hang out in the nearby park like at GDC? I know at least @FalconeerDev is going. Do you happen to know?

Trying to explain the speed of the internet and how drive space was in the 90s, and I feel like I'm explaining that fire was less hot.

Anyway, these thoughts brought to you by Steam game sizes and archaic email file limits.

And I'm probably biased, as I had a good computer and fancy internet as a kid. The average was probably slower and smaller drives.

"How about a gig?" was just the most hysterical question. In theory it'd take like a day, but what would you do with it? It wouldn't fit on a hard drive! YouTube didn't exist, so most folks probably weren't streaming video.... Maybe academic number crunching?

I can download a 30MB file in 1 second now. In the 90s it took >30 minutes, and like 5% of a drive.
