So happy that my story got covered. The importance of being who you are, having supportive figures in your #PhD and following your passion cannot be understated. Being a minority in #STEM is an asset as you bring a unique line of thinking #TransInSTEM #LGBTinSTEM @AcademicChatter

An amazing first day of the #BetterTogether2023 conference! So much to do, so much still to go towards equality. Felt the love in #Adelaide today. More tomorrow.

Our latest work on #bioRxiv answers a simple question: can you see cellular substructures and ultrastructure without fluorescence, or even a 🔬? - Yes, you can! With #UnclearingMicroscopy! @OnsMSaad1 @mshribak @YaleCellBio

Another year of sip week. I'm raising money for spinal cord injury research @PerryXFndn by sipping every drink through a straw. https://t.co/6IhuujvyOB

Labor's budget included $254 billion in tax cuts for the rich - but didn't raise JobSeeker above the poverty line. Poverty is forcing people to go without food. It's making people homeless. It's ruining lives. We live in a wealthy country. This shouldn't be happening.
On ABC radio Melbourne, Matt Tilley from Foodbank Victoria told a story of a woman who asked how long she could keep yogurt she’d picked up from the charity. She was hoping to keep it as her kid’s treat for Christmas.

Wow! A talk from Carolyn Mountford (@GlycoGriffith) is 100x more effective at increasing productivity than a coffee ☕️ Absolutely fascinating research outcomes from many talented researchers. Thanks @GRIDD_GU for making this talk happen.

I did not appreciate that there was effective in vivo spectroscopy imaging. Being able to analyse chemical compositions in living people is crazy

Great way to start a presentation from Professor Carolyn Mountford today for the GRIDD seminar series. "To make a change, means you have to change"

Seeing a lot about the Uluru statement lately - I can't believe that aboriginal and Torres strait Islanders don't have a constitutional voice in a country they've been a part of for thousands of years. https://t.co/sgOPRJW0dL

Another one for the weekend. This is what the world without #SpinalCordInjury would look like according to Andy Warhol. #SIPweek2022 @PerryXFndn

Instead of a paint medium this time, its style of Beeple's everydays although Stable diffusion is really showing its limitations here. This is what the world without #SpinalCordInjury would look like according to @beeple. #SIPweek2022 @PerryXFndn

My housemate and I write Haikus to one another as a way to recap our days or capture some choice experiences. It's really a great way to chronicle. So I decided to make a website to use as our daily dump for Haikus going forward. https://t.co/WxpMoOTB0h

I think this is incredibly important in the advocacy space - when you are alone in the world attempting to fit in, reaching out and connecting with others that are like minded may only be a dm away.

I find this easy in academia but I think this also extends to other industries. People are excited to share their passions and can be pretty open. If you havent tried messaging people you've met online then maybe you should. Be direct and have a goal in mind for the conversation.
